The East Providence School Committee and East Providence Building Committee held a joint meeting on Tuesday, July 31 to hear plans for the public engagement campaign about building a new East Providence High School. Representatives from Gilbane Building Company (construction manager), Horan Communications (communications consultant), and Peregrine Group (owner’s project manager) presented to the two committees an overview of the campaign, designed to inform voters about the November 6th ballot question to finance the proposed construction project.
Working closely with Superintendent Kathy Crowley and other leaders of the school district, the team has developed a three-month schedule of events and activities, including information booths at various local events, two community forums, and presentations in schools. The campaign will feature a suite of digital tools – website, social media, and email – as well as print materials in several languages. The team also unveiled a logo for the campaign, with the tagline, “Pride in Our Schools, Commitment to Our Community.”
The campaign will officially launch with an information booth at The Looff: East Providence Arts Festival on Saturday, August 11.
